Disruptions to Fishers' and Farmers' Livelihoods by Shwe Gas Project The Onshore Gas Terminal located in Prine Sate Kay village, Kyauk Phyu Township “We don’t want projects that will make our future disappear,” said a villager in Made Island. People in Kyauk Phyu township have long been suffering the impacts of Shwe Gas pipeline project since it was started in 2009. The livelihoods of fishers and farmers have been disrupted by Shwe Gas Project since farmers have faced land confiscation for the construction of pipelines and fishers have lost their fishing grounds and fishing nets resulting in decreased income leading to others social impacts such as children drooping out of the school and migration to others places to find for jobs.  Who Creates Climate Change and Who Suffers?   When I was 19 in 2015, I experienced the most serious flood of my life in Mrauk U which is my hometown. The water level was increasing immediately and the flow of water was too strong, if you passed it, you can be floated with the water flow even if you can swim. Me and my sister were sent to neighbor's house from the highland area. My mom and dad were being busy with keeping the household accessories in the place where they thought the flood could not reach. There were a few boats in the flooded main road in front of our house. Here was the question that came up in my mind after flooding. What made this flood happened? Memories I can never get back "I had been really happy in my childhood playing with my friends in the garden at the back of the house which has various types of trees. My family raised me very well so that my childhood has been really enjoyable and peaceful. My mom played an important role in that case when she always cooked me my favorite dishes when was home. So I often miss those innocent memories, especially when I am away, especially when I am in Chiang Mai. Anyway, it is always sweet to call back these memories even though I can never get back those memories in my life."

The Beauty of Loi Krathong I rarely go night out in Chiang Mai, but yesterday as the EarthRights School sent the students to the city, we went to Loi Krathong Festival. Before we went there, we had to do some preparations such as the students creating their own Loi Krathong. At first, I had no idea about how to make it, but we learnt from the staffs who already experienced about the festival at school. I want to talk a bit about the festival of Loi Krathong. Loi means releasing and Krathong means a banana truck which is decorated with flowers and leaves to float it in the water. Traditionally, people use banana leaves and colourful flowers to decorate Loi Krathong and they also put one candle and incense sticks in it and then they release it into the river or pond or canal. This festival is usually celebrated at the end of year of Thai calendar which is usually in the month of November. The reason is that they want to release all the bad memories of the past
